Today, SimpliHome adds House Maintenance Schedules to the property section, so you can build a complete picture of what your home needs, when it was last done, and when it's coming due next.
#What's New
For every property in your Circle, you can now create a maintenance schedule — a list of recurring tasks, each with a service date and a frequency. SimpliHome does the arithmetic and tells you when each task is next due.
The schedule includes:
- Task type — choose from 20+ built-in categories or create your own
- Last service date — when the job was last done
- Frequency — monthly, every 3 months, every 6 months, annually, or anything up to 10 years
- Service provider — record which company or tradesperson you use for each job
- Notes — anything else worth keeping track of
#Built-In Task Types
We've included 20 of the most common household maintenance tasks out of the box, so you're not starting from a blank slate:

If your home needs something not on the list — a CCTV check, log burner maintenance, a specific appliance service — you can create a custom task type private to your household.
#Automatic Next-Due Dates
You don't need to calculate anything. Enter the last service date and frequency, and SimpliHome works out when the job is next due — advancing through the schedule until it reaches a future date.
Miss a year? SimpliHome catches up correctly. Moved into a property mid-schedule? Just enter the actual last service date and the frequency, and you'll get an accurate next due.
#Email Reminders a Week Before
Seven days before each task falls due, SimpliHome sends you an email reminder — enough time to book your engineer, order supplies, or arrange a contractor.
The reminder covers every task due in that week across all properties in your Circle, so you get one useful notification rather than a drip of individual alerts.
Maintenance tasks also appear in the weekly household digest alongside upcoming bills, renewals, and calendar events.
#Mark as Complete
When a job is done, tap Mark Complete. SimpliHome sets the last service date to today and immediately calculates the next due date. If you have calendar integration enabled, the calendar event updates to reflect the new occurrence.
One tap and the schedule rolls forward. No manual date-wrangling.
#Calendar Integration
If your Circle has auto-create calendar events turned on, SimpliHome adds each maintenance task to the shared household calendar as a recurring event. Annual jobs recur yearly; monthly jobs recur monthly. Every household member can see what's coming up.
#Who Can Use It
Maintenance schedules are available to Circle Admins (Circle Owner and Secondary Admin). Like other property features, they're tied to the property record and managed alongside valuations, documents, and mortgage payments.
#How to Get Started
- Go to Houses in the navigation
- Open a property
- Click the Maintenance tab
- Click Add Task and select a task type from the list (or create a custom one)
- Set the last service date and frequency
- Save
That's your first scheduled task. Add the rest and you'll have a complete picture of your property's maintenance history and upcoming requirements.
No more guessing when the boiler was last serviced. No more discovering the gutters were last cleared "around 2021 maybe". Just a clear schedule, accurate due dates, and a reminder in your inbox before anything slips through.
